#instameaning Day 27: Information Architected

Today I had my NYU Information Architecture 1 students start businesses. I assigned the CEOs by whomever showed up for class earliest and had these “CEOs” take 30 seconds to invent a web service.

After a card sorting excercise, the business’ CEOs swapped teams and explained the business and it’s taxonomy to the other teams.

Once the idea was explained, the CEOs borrowed new ideas from the opposite teams and headed back to their home teams to reveal the wireframes they had sketched, as well as new ideas crafted.

It was a smart, energetic and creative group and I totally enjoyed working with them today!

My favorite comment from a student today:
“This is fun, I wasn’t expecting this to be fun.”
